Human-centered sustainability: Let there be light for health and wellbeing? Webinar

Welcome to the second of the ‘Human-centered sustainability’ webinars, an exciting series of online learning sessions by Green Building Encyclopaedia!

In a society where 90% of our time is spent indoors, more and more research supports the knowledge and intuitive idea that natural light (and high frequency artificial light that simulates it) is extremely important for the human circadian rhythm, good sleep and therefore good health.

As building designers and engineers, we are encouraged to ensure that the environment where people live, work and perform activities is in accordance with the best practice in relation to daylight and artificial lighting.

How do we make sure that a sustainable approach is embedded in our choices and design solutions?

Your expert speakers, coming from both academia and practice, will address:

  • Effects of lighting on human health
  • Daylight and artificial lighting, energy efficiency considerations
  • How to design buildings with correct daylighting
  • How to navigate artificial lighting design
  • Address regulations and best practice strategies
  • Practical examples and case studies
  • Tools to assess and design the optimum level and quality of lighting

We encourage audience participation throughout and will end the session with a Q&A with your expert presenters.
