The happiness factor and design for mental wellbeing Webinar #6
Human-centered sustainability: Webinar
The happiness factor and design for mental wellbeing
Welcome to the last of the Spring 2020 GBE webinars, an exciting series of online learning sessions by Green Building Encyclopaedia!
The field of Health & Wellbeing has blossomed in the sustainability agenda in the past few years. The new WELL Building Standard brought about requirements for many aspects of comfort and health. The industry has produced overwhelming research on the impact of the built environment on our general wellbeing, and in more commercial terms, productivity.
One of the emerging aspects in good architectural design that is receiving a good deal of attention is mental wellbeing. This topic is increasingly talked about, certainly thanks to the amazing contribution of Ben Channon, Associate and Mental Wellbeing Ambassador at Assael Architecture, TED speaker and author of the book ‘Happy by Design’ published by RIBA.
We are very happy that Ben has agreed to join us and speak at this webinar to give us the basics of good design for people’s mental wellbeing. He will take us through:
- The design pillars to be considered for happy environments
- Barriers and opportunities of designing for mental wellbeing
- How to influence stakeholders, especially in offices, and become an ambassador of mental wellbeing
We encourage audience participation throughout and will end the session with a Q&A with your expert presenters.
Ben Channon, Associate, Mental Wellbeing Ambassador and WELL AP at Assael. Author, public speaker, and WELL Mind Advisory member
